Yup. Some of the best metal/hard rock albums came out in the 80s.

Notable contributions from Motorhead, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Dio, Sabbath, Judas Priest, Van Halen and all the US hair metal bands who were great fun before grunge killed it all.

Parallel Lines is a classic album and Debbie Harry was an absolute sort.

In the eighties I was very much into baroque music particularly Jean Baptiste Lully, Henry Purcell, George Frideric Handel and of course Johann Sebastian Bach.

Zico

No shame there mate, but understand why - It's your youth that you are into, that's why as a kid I saw aging Teddy Boys and Mod/Soul etc reunion events are really so popular today

Yeah the tunes are great to us, but we can be what we were again, its moments in time teleported

No harm there, we had a football club once ......

Never been a big music fan, more movies, but I tend to prefer certain individual tracks rather than bands and I probably haven't listened to much music since around 1989!! Having said that I was into the Ska stuff a bit then got into ashamedly Adam and the Ants (well I was only 12!!) and eventually became well into Ultravox, the 80's line up. Still am to be honest and seem to be the only person on the planet who is!!!

Chim

Behave yourself man

No fucking perm here, nothing but one of the original and classic blonde wedge cuts, supported by string vests and those pegged strides that had outside zips from above to below the knee that when opened revealed different colour in the flair whilst throwing shapes in our boxing boots to The Fatback Band et al

Thems were the days when the soul boys took top bidding in the parade ring ;)

If you think Bryan Ferry is scary just watch the Carly Simon WHY video now that is creepy.
Great tune though.

The 80s produced the shittest music ever. I fucking hated more or less everything back then.

Don't argue, I'm right, you fucking jumper-tied-around-the-shoulders-perm-headed shit-cunts.

There was some bloody good metal about then and started the ludicrous metal genre explosion:
Celtic Frost were one my faves along with Napalm Death and Carcass..

Too be fair the 80s was a brilliant time of sub cultures and generally. You had all your little groups into one sort of sound.

Re: Nostalgia....and nothing to do with West Ham...
Metal, Hard Rock

At that time, all other music was shit.

Hated Ska, hated Skin Heads. As for Fuckin Casuals..with
Their pretend love of Funk and Soul.. Fuck Off.

Times change, love a bit of everything now, Still love Metal though.

Human League

Heaven 17 are another 3 that spring to mind,

I was also pretty into the psych/garage rock revival in the mid eighties and was in a psych band for 18 months. Chaotic but massive fun - the club nights were sheer outlaw debauchery that would have made Ken Russell think twice

A lot of great middle of the road music the eighties was actually a very decent decade for music especially in GB, but Michael Jackson was it's greatest star.
